Hi, I’m Rupert — a music tutor based in Nottingham, teaching guitar, violin, and music theory for over 13 years. Alongside teaching, I’ve also performed professionally and semi-professionally for just as long, and I love bringing that real-world energy into my lessons.
My background is rooted in popular styles — pop, funk, blues, jazz, and rock — but I’m always open to exploring whatever music excites you. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or want to take your playing to the next level, I tailor lessons to fit your goals and taste.
Some of my students want to jam, some want to pass grades, and others want to improvise, write songs, or dive into music production. I’ve helped people strengthen their theory, master the fretboard, accompany themselves while singing, and even build beats from scratch.
No two students are the same — so lessons aren’t either. We can follow graded exams or carve out your own path. All ages and levels welcome.
